Confessing the truth …

Beloved–

How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart?  Cleanse me from these hidden faults. Keep your servant from deliberate sins!  Don’t let them control me. Then I will be free of guilt and innocent of great sin. (from Psalms)

I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done.  I will be filled with joy because of you. I will sing praises to your name, O Most High …  You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.  (from Psalms)

I pray for you to be filled with joy despite your daily circumstances. Easy to say . . .  hard to do. But the God who is keeps his word; his love never fails!

Luv Ya!

Hold on tight

Beloved–

Lead me in the right path, O Lord, or my enemies will conquer me. Make your way plain for me to follow.  (from Psalms)

You have given me greater joy than those who have abundant harvests of grain and new wine. In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O Lord, will keep me safe … let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them sing joyful praises forever.  Spread your protection over them, that all who love your name may be filled with joy. (from Psalms)

I pray for you to rejoice and be filled with joy because of God the Father’s sacrifice of his beloved Son, the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross, through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Luv Ya!

Comfort

Beloved–

My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?  Why are you so far away when I groan for help? Every day I call to you, my God, but you do not answer.  Every night I lift my voice, but I find no relief.  How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart?  Cleanse me from these hidden faults.  Keep your servant from deliberate sins!  Don’t let them control me. Then I will be free of guilt and innocent of great sin.  May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.

But as for me, I will sing about your power. Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love.  For you have been my refuge, a place of safety when I am in distress.  O my Strength, to you I sing praises, for you, O God, are my refuge, the God who shows me unfailing love.

A-h-a-a-a-a, the book of Psalms what a comfort!

Luv Ya!

Finding joy . . .

Beloved–

I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done.  I will be filled with joy because of you.  I will sing praises to your name, O Most High . . . You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever . . .  (from Psalms)

Knowing that the Lord has paid my debt and granted me the joy of his presence in my daily life, I have learned that the death of a beloved friend or having a flat tire in the middle of nowhere, at night, the Lord is in control.  And just because I can’t always see what is best in the situation  — the LORD does.

I pray for you to experience the presence of the LORD, the God who is . . . Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

Luv Ya!

Protect yourself

Beloved–

… Don’t say, “I will get even for this wrong.”  Wait for the Lord to handle the matter … Watch your tongue and keep your mouth shut, and you will stay out of trouble … Whoever pursues righteousness and unfailing love will find life, righteousness, and honor …  (from Proverbs)

I keep entertaining negative thoughts and then I say to myself I don’t want to think like that. I wound myself so tight that I yelled out loud at myself. Then I learned that thinking and hearing God’s word out loud will help to overcome the enemy’s attack.

I pray for you to actively seek to strengthen your Godly armor and continue to glorify the God who is   ….   Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

Luv Ya!

Beloved—

… Even Death and Destruction hold no secrets from the Lord. How much more does he know the human heart! … The heart of the godly thinks carefully before speaking; the mouth of the wicked overflows with evil words …  (from Proverbs)

I not only need to control my tongue, but my thoughts as well.  I can usually keep a harness on my tongue, but it is much more difficult to stop my thoughts from running at warp speed.  Whether, my thoughts dig out a negative feeling or I entertain them on purpose, the Holy Spirit helps me bring a halt to my sin, with the word of God.  Only, daily feeding on the scripture can I keep my thoughts in check.

I pray that you, daily feed on the word of the God who is …  Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

Luv Ya!

How to fight

Beloved–

… So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law … So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. (Romans and Galatians)

As a new believer, I had no idea that the Holy Spirit was at work in my heart. I thought that I had an unsolvable problem and in desperation I had cried out to God.  I didn’t realize that the Spirit was leading me, through circumstances, to trust my life to God more and more each day.  Now I know that, Jesus paid my debt that I couldn’t pay through the power of the Holy Spirit, because God chose to love me.

I pray that you hear the voice of the Holy Spirit guiding you to rejoice in the God who is … Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

Luv Ya!

The History of “It’s Wednesday”

The power of praise and prayer has been a passion of mine since I was a very young Christian.  As a church secretary, I took on the prayer ministry, especially for students and teachers at the preschool located on the church campus.

The prayer ministry came to include actual hands-on prayer, Wednesday was the designated day.  One particular teacher would often say to me “It’s Wednesday isn’t it?”  When she resigned to return to school she said she would miss our weekly prayer time.  I told her, “don’t worry I’ll email you your prayer.”

In her first emailed prayer I wrote on the subject line “It’s Wednesday” and the title just stuck.  I would like to introduce you to that weekly email known as It’s Wednesday, that began in 2003.

I’m praying daily for YOU and that you will fall in love with Jesus more and more everyday; He has taken out your heart of stone and given you a heart of flesh and blood … His blood!

Luv Ya!

Are you sure?

Beloved–

Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires. (from Psalms)

As I pray for you, I ask God, our Father to answer your prayer in the wisest and best way; that his answer will conform your character to be more like that of our savior, Jesus Christ.  I can not do otherwise. The God who is … the Son, willingly left a relationship of perfection and harmony to wash away my sin through the power of the Holy Spirit to save me into the loving arms of my heavenly Father.

Luv Ya!

The Reason

Beloved–

The Lord’s light penetrates the human spirit,  exposing every hidden motive. (from Proverbs)

You are mighty, YOU are mighty.  YOU are holy, YOU are holy.  YOU are a-a-awesome, YOU are a- a-awesome.  YOU are worthy, YOU are worthy.  YOU are so won-der-ful to me! This is the music I hear as I focus on the triune God who is … Father, Son and the Holy Spirit filling my heart with JOY.  I pray for you too, to have that same JOY!
