Happy Land

Beloved–

Wise words bring many benefits, and hard work brings rewards …  Fools think their own way is right, but the wise listen to others … A fool is quick-tempered, but a wise person stays calm when insulted. (from Proverbs)

Chaos continues to reign as I move into the home of my — never thought possible — dreams. Just because there is no internet access and there is no microwave and nobody is sure how to program the heating/cooling system, should change the fact that I can let go and concentrate on the majesty of the triune God who is … the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit!

I pray for you daily, that you will bask in the joy that is our triune God even if you can’t see any in yours.

Luv Ya!

Still …

Beloved–

The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need … I love the Lord because he hears my voice  and my prayer for mercy.  Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath!  (from Psalms)

Even when total chaos reigns in my mind and my surroundings — I’m not always sure which end is up — still, I am able to pray and cry out to my savior who died for me, to my heavenly Father who has forgiven me and through the power of the Holy Spirit who intercedes for me.

I pray for you daily, that you always seek to praise our triune God who is … Father, Son and the Holy Spirit!

Be careful what you think is … is

Beloved–

Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires  … The prudent understand where they are going, but fools deceive themselves.  (from Psalms and Proverbs)

I became a believer; then I read the book of Psalms in the Bible and it soothed my soul — even to tears of joy.  My soul was shallow and my heart was completely selfish and self centered.  Then I read the book of Proverbs in the Bible; it talks a great deal about fools and their folly.  I began to see I was more interested in what Christ could do for me and less of how much I could do for him.  What a fool I was and how gracious Christ is!

I pray for you everyday; that you delight in the Lord and that you are prudent when you praise the God who is … Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

Joyful, Joyful …

Beloved–

“The Lord formed me from the beginning, before he created anything else …

“I, Wisdom, live together with good judgment.  I know where to discover knowledge and discernment … “I love all who love me. Those who search will surely find me … “And so, my children, listen to me, for all who follow my ways are joyful.

How long will you fools hate knowledge?  … You ignored my advice … When they cry for help, I will not answer … For they hated knowledge  and chose not to fear the Lord.  (from Proverbs)

I was always backing myself into a corner.  Then I began to read Proverbs everyday and I thought, great all my problems are solved!  “Not so fast”, said the enemy.  Then I learned not to confuse my wisdom — for a solution — with the way the Lord works in my life.  I’m learning that I can be joyful in all situations.

I pray for you daily to hold on to God and his word just as tight as you can; always praising the God who is … Father, Son and the Holy Spirit!

Luv Ya!

IWOT!

Beloved–

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body  and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. (from Psalms)

I awoke at midnight with chest pain July 29th and went to the ER.  Many tests and examinations later the doctor told me that I didn’t have a heart attack but that my “pipes needed to be re-piped” aka bypass surgery.  With the admonition that if, I wouldn’t do anything — no pushing, no pulling, no lifting, no carrying or straining of any kind, that would undo the successful surgery — for 3 months then I would be “good to go.”

Today, the doctor said I could return to my accustom activities and did not need to return until my annual check-up!!  God’s word always proves to be true!

I have been praying for you daily; the doctor didn’t say anything about not talking, and I will continue to commit you to the God who is … Father, Son and the Holy Spirit!

Luv Ya!

Can’t be done — unless

Beloved–

Pride leads to conflict; those who take advice are wise.

Those who control their tongue will have a long life; opening your mouth can ruin everything

Wise people think before they act; fools don’t—and even brag about their foolishness.   (from Proverbs)

—  “and I told him just what he could do with his suggestions, too!”  —

Get rid of pride, listen to advice, keep my mouth shut, think before I say a word, and don’t act like a fool.  Can’t be done — unless I am continually hearing the Holy Spirit speaking to me through God’s Word that I have stored in my heart.

I pray for you daily; that you choose your relationship with the God who is … Father, Son and Holy Spirit as your highest priority in this life.

Peace?

Beloved—

Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! … Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything … Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.   (from Philippians)

When chaos reigns in my life the Lord says, “be full of joy, even rejoice!”  Because peace comes from inside (my heart) not from my outside circumstances.

I pray for you daily.  Think of one of your happiest moments and realize that life with the God who is …. Father, Son and Spirit will be more than ten thousand times more joyful!

Luv Ya!

Joy 3.0

Beloved–

Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do!  And whatever else you do, develop good judgment … when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.   (from Proverbs and James)

I need to think before I comment, so that I can be sure that what I say is edifying and that I’m being lead by the spirit and not by my own wisdom.

I pray for you daily for you to have joy because the God who is … Father, Son and the Holy Spirit loves you.

IWOT!

Beloved–

Watch your tongue and keep your mouth shut, and you will stay out of trouble … People may be right in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their heart.  (from Proverbs)

I not only need to be careful to think before I speak — being careful that my words are not critical or hurtful — I also need to mean it from the bottom of my heart.

I pray for you daily because the God who is … Father, Son and the Holy Spirit loves you.

Beloved–

Sensible people control their temper; they earn respect by overlooking wrongs … The Lord’s light penetrates the human spirit, exposing every hidden motive.  (from Proverbs)

This last 8 weeks not only have I had to “overlook” unpleasant situations, I couldn’t even  rehearse them in my mind or put them on a list. I have to count them as another found joy in the Lord!

I pray for you everyday that you find another reason for your joy in the God who is … Father, Son and the Holy Spirit!

Luv Ya!
