Beloved–

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.  (from Romans)

As a new convert to Bible study, my vision of this verse was Disney-fied from the first time I heard and read it. A magic wand would make me acceptable — but even then, I knew that I wouldn’t be perfect.  Now I know that, my thinking about the way to live my life was all wrong and my gracious Heavenly Father, God, was willing to change my way of thinking. As veteran Bible reader I have “aha moments” on a regular basis. I pray for you to have moments where you know the REAL God and not the one you thought he was.

Beloved–

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.  And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. (from Romans)

I gained my salvation by believing that, God the Father took the death of his son, Jesus Christ, on the cross as payment for my debt of sin.  When trouble and disaster overtake me like a storm, then I cling to the foot of the cross, thanking Jesus for peace of mind and heart and for his love and protection.  But, when a world of calamity and overwhelming anguish and distress engulfs me like a cyclone, I call out to God, my Father, to hold me tight through the storm. I pray for you that, you too, can call out to Jesus to hold you in his arms, praising the God who is … Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

You too, can know …

I gained my salvation by believing that, God the Father took the death of his son, Jesus Christ, on the cross as payment for my debt of sin.  I have learned that the best place to find peace of mind is at the foot of that cross; my arms wrapped around, and holding on tight. I pray for you, that you too, can call out to Jesus to hold you tight.  Praising the God who is … Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

King of Kings

Beloved–

From then on Jesus began to preach, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.  (from Matthew)

Sometimes I forget that, King Jesus is sitting on his throne and is in complete control.  And as I repent of my pride even his discipline is awesome and sweet to the soul. My blessings continue to flow.  I pray for you to know my sweet Jesus — the God who is … Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

Am I?

Beloved–

You have patiently suffered for me without quitting. “But I have this complaint against you. You don’t love me or each other as you did at first!  (from Revelation)

*Am I getting a new perspective on how I see people?

*Am I following my mission of reconciliation?

*Am I representing Jesus and His kingdom well?

*Am I keeping everything in perspective in light of the cross and Jesus’ sacrifice for me?

I listened to the new senior pastor of Sweetwater Community church ask the above 4 questions of the congregation.  As I sat there taking notes I realized that, I had become complacent rather than passionate about the mission I had chosen when I received my salvation.  I pray for you to never fail to be overwhelmed by the awesome God who is … Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

Beloved–

… Joyful is the person who finds wisdom, the one who gains understanding.  Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding.  (from Proverbs)

Why has the Lord allowed me to paint myself into a corner— to be able to recognize how I got there.  Is it the consequences of my own sinful folly; is the enemy attacking, or is the God who is … Father, Son, and Holy Spirit blessing me?  I pray for you to be joyful, too.

WOW !!

Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love.  Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins. Wash me clean from my guilt.  Purify me from my sin. For I recognize my rebellion; it haunts me day and night. Against you, and you alone, have I sinned; I have done what is evil in your sight. You will be proved right in what you say, and your judgment against me is just.  For I was born a sinner—yes, from the moment my mother conceived me. But you desire honesty from the womb,  teaching me wisdom even there.  Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean;  wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.  Oh, give me back my joy again; you have broken me—now let me rejoice.  Don’t keep looking at my sins. Remove the stain of my guilt. Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me.  Do not banish me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you. (from Psalms)

Beloved– Joy comes in the morning !!!!!!

Beloved–

Don’t trap yourself by making a rash promise to God  and only later counting the cost . . . People ruin their lives by their own foolishness and then are angry at the Lord. (from Proverbs)

“Shoot first and ask questions later” was my personality trait for many years.  It has taken many years of consequences, for the Lord, to teach me to let him “go first.”  I pray for you that you allow the God who is . . . Father, Son and Holy Spirit to be your leader.

Let the people rejoice

Beloved–

We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.  (from 2 Corinthians)

Isn’t it great that, when our faith wavers and our doubt brings us to the point of despair; yet God, our Father, does not abandon or forsakes us?  I pray for you to know that, your salvation does not depend on your own strength but on the strength of the Holy Spirit that he put into your heart when you first believed.

A vow, a promise, a guarantee

Beloved–

I will make a covenant with you, by which I will guarantee to give you countless descendants.”   Now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the peoples on earth; for all the earth belongs to me.  (from the Bible, which is God’s bonded word)

I pray for you to enjoy the Lord’s covenant guarantee to you. Know he loves you with a consuming love — because he is the God who is . . . Father, Son and Holy Spirit!
