Who is!

Beloved–

O Lord, do good to those who are good, whose hearts are in tune with you.  How joyful are those who fear the Lord— all who follow his ways! (from Psalms)

Last Sunday’s sermon was on focusing and centering my life on God. I want so much for my daily activities to reflect my heart’s desire to be in tune with my Lord.  I pray that I am not easily distracted and immediately recognize the enemy.

I pray for you daily to want to follow his ways and trust the God who is … Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Don’t doubt

Beloved–

The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need.

I love the Lord because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. (from Psalms)

As a child I memorized a Bible verse for which I received a gold star.  As a twenty something, having dug my life into a hole so deep that I couldn’t even see out over the edge, I began doubting that I had a shepherd.  Then the memory verse was brought to my mind and I called out for help.

I pray for you everyday that you think you don’t need help or think you have the solution without trusting your shepherd.  Don’t entertain doubt that’s the enemy.

Eyes Up!

Beloved–

My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words.  Don’t lose sight of them.  Let them penetrate deep into your heart … Don’t get sidetracked … (from Proverbs)

I have learned that if I don’t understand the lesson the first time it will keep repeating.  My goal is to keep my eyes up!  Not to take everything to heart, not to worry over my problems.  My God saved my soul from damnation, he can handle whatever the enemy can throw at me.

I pray for you daily to keep your eyes up, not get sidetracked by the world around you.

Joy or Sorrow

Beloved–

Cry out for insight,  and ask for understanding … Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord … Trust in the Lord with all your heart;  do not depend on your own understanding … Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom.  Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil. (from Proverbs)

God’s word tells me that, wisdom and understanding will lead me to trust and fear the Lord; but above all not to lean on my own understanding. Yet, just as soon as the Lord has solved my latest burden of the day (without me doing anything), I take up my burden for tomorrow.  Several times a day my Heavenly Father reminds me to choose the joy of praise instead of the sorrow of my own wisdom!

I pray for you daily to choose praise over sorrow and worship the God who is … Father, Son and Spirit.

I KNOW…

Beloved–

Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me.  Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.  (from Psalms)

I have learned that I can rejoice, even through my tears and frustrations of the deepest, darkest valley, because I KNOW that I’m not alone!

I pray for you everyday that, you will WANT to know and praise the God who is … Father, Son and Spirit.

Don’t stand so close to the …

Beloved–

My child, don’t reject the Lord’s discipline, and don’t be upset when he corrects you.  For the Lord corrects those he loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights … As you endure this divine discipline, remember that God is treating you as his own children … If God doesn’t discipline you as he does all of his children, it means that you are illegitimate and are not really his children at all.  (from Proverbs and Hebrews)

I can’t remember having “joy” when I was disciplined as a child.  With hindsight I can see that I was a long way down the wrong road of disobedience.  Now, I find my JOY in knowing that my God and King is quick to keep me from traveling very far down the wrong way!

I pray for you daily to know that the God who is … Father, Son and Spirit … is right beside you, right behind you and best of all right in front of you!

Luv Ya!

Start today!

Beloved–

If you are not sure when or where you went off track, there is good news.  Because of our heavenly father’s everlasting love and grace, you can start a new memory today!

Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name.  Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me.  He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases.  He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies.  He fills my life with good things.  My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!  (from Psalms)

I pray for you everyday that you don’t have to “go back.”  That you are continually following the Holy Spirit’s leading every morning and every night asking the Father’s forgiveness for where you failed that day.  Praise the God who is … Father, Son and Spirit!

Go Back

Beloved–

Pressing toward the Goal — I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. (from Philippians)

“Go back to where you know you were going straight,” said my sewing teacher and start from there.  Sometimes, I think I’m sewing a straight seam– I look away from the  guide just for a minute — and I find my seam is way off track.  Now, when I begin to see that I’ve lost my peace of heart, I go back to where I know my heart was in sync.

I pray for you daily to learn to recognize when you are out of sync and to go back to where you had peace of mind and heart with the God who is … Father, Son and Spirit.

Time to grow up

Beloved–

Only a fool despises a parent’s discipline, whoever learns from correction is wise.  (from Proverbs)

I recently, observed a father calmly and patiently discipline his child who was having a temper tantrum.  Then I knew that my heavenly father was calmly and patiently showing me that his way is best for me.

I pray for you daily to praise God no matter what happens … the God who is–Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

Sovereignty

Beloved–

O Lord, I have come to you for protection … Be my rock of safety … for you are my rock and my fortress … But I will keep on hoping for your help; I will praise you more and more.  I will tell everyone about your righteousness … I will praise your mighty deeds, O Sovereign Lord.  I will tell everyone that you alone are just.  (from Psalms)

I pray–

If this is a lesson I want to learn it!  If this is a test I want to pass it!  If this is your will then I will praise and thank you for it!

I pray for you daily to acknowledge his sovereignty and to Know that just because you can’t see the end of the tunnel the God who is– is right there in front of you and he’s got your back!

Luv Ya!
