Safe

Beloved–

As you endure this (His) divine discipline, remember that God is treating you as his own children. Hebrews 12:7  (from dictionary.com) Discipline: training to act in accordance with rules.  (from proverbs) To discipline a child produces wisdom.

Whenever the hard times come, pray for wisdom, discernment, persistence and patience; knowing that you are safe in his arms.

I pray for your assurance in the Lord’s love for you.

Luv Ya!

Thankful

Beloved–

Those who spare the rod of discipline hate their children. Those who love their children care enough to discipline them.  Prov 13:24

(from dictionary.com) Punishment: a penalty inflicted for an offense or fault.  Discipline: training to act in accordance with rules  The way I read it punishment denotes anger and discipline denotes love.  It is easy to get angry (self protection from fear).  It takes time, energy and effort (preparation) to discipline.

I am overwhelmed with the thought that my heavenly father lovingly gave up his only son to take the punishment I deserved for my sins.  And that he has taken time, effort and energy to discipline me each and every time I have needed it.

I pray for you to have the same joy of knowing that God gave up his son for you, yet disciplines you when you need it.

Luv Ya!

No feelings needed.

Beloved–

18 In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on my servants—men and women alike…25 King David said…‘I see that the Lord is always with me.  I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.  26 No wonder my heart is glad, and my tongue shouts his praises!  My body rests in hope.’ (Acts 2)

I know that in all situations I can experience the joy of knowing the Lord is with me but sometimes the day-to-day of living in the fallen world can cause me to lose focus.  So when I don’t FEEL the joy “‘I will not be shaken,’”  because I can just lean back to my right “‘for he is right beside me.’”  Joy doesn’t take feelings it takes obedience.

I pray for you everyday and that you can focus on him.

Luv Ya!

KNOW IT!

Beloved–

“How do I love thee, let me count the ways…”

23 I (the Lord Jesus) am in them and you (Father) are in me.  May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me. (John 17)

I know I cannot comprehend the depth of God’s love for Jesus Christ, but I do know that “God so loved the world, that he gave his beloved son…” to pay the world’s debt for sin.  It’s almost beyond my ability to grasp the fact that God would still have done it had I been the only one who had a debt.

I pray for you daily to know how much God loves you.

Luv Ya!

Don’t say I can’t

Beloved–

When trust in a relationship is lost, how do you restore the respect needed to trust again?

10 So I will prove to you that the Son of Man has the authority on earth to forgive sins….” (Mark 2)

Since Christ (who is perfect) has forgiven each one of us (who are not perfect) I have no choice but to forgive.  I know that only obedience, submission and much prayer would I be able to do it.

I pray for you daily to know the love of Christ.

Luv Ya!

The right way

Beloved–

37 You know the saying, ‘One plants and another harvests.’ And it’s true. 38 I sent you to harvest where you didn’t plant; others had already done the work, and now you will get to gather the harvest.”  (John 4)

Yet, how often have I acted as if I knew best and tried to plant and harvest in the same location and failed miserably.  Only, when I look back in time can I see (sometimes) that God used me when I didn’t even know it.  I pray each day that I focus on worshiping him instead of trying to “fix” things.

I pray for you daily for your focus.

Luv Ya!

Strengh

Beloved–

When I recognized that I was dissolving into a pool of self pity, I prayed please help me.  Reading the book of Proverbs  “if you fail under pressure, your strength is too small.”  (24:10)  Then I prayed please Lord Jesus I need your strength.  Thank you Jesus!

I pray for you daily.

LENT

Beloved–

Luke 26 “If you want to be my disciple, you must hate everyone else by comparison…yes, even your own life. Otherwise, you cannot be my disciple.

Many people, since this is the first day of Lent, are trying to decide what they are willing to sacrifice for the next 40 days.  The Word tells me that my minimum sacrifice is my very life and do it with joy.  I have asked myself do I want to be shallow ground or deep fertile soil where the seed was sown?   JOY it is!

I know I can’t do it on my own; I pray for daily strength for you and for me to be joyful at all times.

Luv Ya!

What is your goal?

Beloved–

Luke 18 “So pay attention to how you hear. To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given. But for those who are not listening, even what they think they understand will be taken away from them.”

OMG those words almost literally jumped off the page at me today.  How many times in the past have I read God’s word and not really heard and understood its meaning as it applied directly to me?  Pastor says our goal is to be God, so I pray for the Lord to be uppermost in my mind at all times.

I pray for you daily to have God as your life goal.

Luv Ya!

Who is in charge?

Beloved–

…“The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields. Luke 2

I want so much to get out there in the field and work but the Lord has me housebound (for the most part); to learn the lesson to trust in him completely and not to want to do things in my own strength. A lesson I have had to learn more than once.

The Lord is patient with his children, never discouraged when we fall and forget who is in charge.  I am praying for you to constantly be aware of his presence in your life.

Luv Ya!
