Try to Understand

Beloved–

Rejoicing in my salvation–never to be alone again–I had no concept of the gift I had received.  Only, the daily (took me many attempts to get started) reading of his word did I come to understand that I’m always connected to his presence and try to comprehend the depth of his grace.

…Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him…may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is…then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. (from Ephesians 3)

I pray for you daily to know how much he loves you.

Luv Ya!

The Only Way

Beloved–

By wisdom the Lord founded the earth; by understanding he created the heavens. (from Proverbs 3)

When I think of all this [the wisdom and scope of God’s plan], I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.  I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. (from Ephesians 3)

Beloved, I pray that you hear and recognize the voice of the Holy Spirit speaking to you clearly. Because “Wise choices will watch over you.  Understanding will keep you safe.” (from Proverbs 2)

Luv Ya!

It’s Wednesday on Thursday

Beloved–

Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying…He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding. (from Romans 12 & Ephesians 1)

Once I learned to have “confident hope” based on God the Father’s word, it became easier to be patient in times of doubt.  It took me awhile to learn to practice trusting and waiting.  I spent a lot of time using my own effort and ideas trying to get the result I thought was best (usually to no avail).  Praying and patient waiting help me to understand the wisdom of his plan.

I pray for you to trust and obey.

Luv Ya!

Choise/Chosen

Beloved–

…So now that you [found] know God (or should I say, now that God knows [found] you), why do you want to go back again and become slaves once more to the weak and useless spiritual principles of this world?  Are you trying to earn favor with God by observing certain days or months or seasons or years…(from Galatians 4)

As a new Christian I became self righteous because I thought I had “found” God.  Only studying his Word did I discover the real sovereignty of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his plan for my life before the foundation of the world.

I pray daily for you to fall in love with my Lord.

Luv Ya!

Keep your heart open.

Beloved–

…Did you receive the Holy Spirit by obeying the law of Moses? Of course not! You received the Spirit because you believed the message you heard about Christ.. After starting your new lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort? (from Galatians 3)

I came to salvation through reading books written by people telling about their search for God; but did not realize I needed nurturing as well.  Now, I ask the Lord how he can use me to nurture any believer I meet.

I pray for you daily to hear the Spirit’s voice even if he only whispers.

Luv Ya!

It’s Wednesday on Thursday

Beloved–

So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law.  (Galatians 5:1)

I got that gift of freedom through faith in Christ’s work on the cross; celebrated it, but did not comprehend the depth of God’s grace, his actual love for me.  The euphoria of peace lasted for a time, then the problems of the world (those that sent me to the foot of the cross in the first place) crowded in and the gift of life was forgotten in the midst of chaos.

I pray that you, as a believer, will seek to understand the depth of God’s grace for you.

Luv Ya!

Don’t cry, listen

Beloved–

…“My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses…For when I am weak, then I am strong.  (from 2 Cor 12)

Easier read than done.  Only praising God for his gift of grace can I smile through my tears.  I pray that you and I can be so quiet in Christ that we can hear even the whispers of the Holy Spirit.

Luv Ya!

Because..

…I don’t want anyone to give me credit beyond what they can see in my life or hear in my message… (from 2 Corinthians)

Beloved, so say I; hope you do too!

Free at last, free at last!

Beloved–

And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.  The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins. (Rom 8:2-3)

But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?  And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!” (Rom 10:14-15)

Beloved, I pray for you to know him and boldly tell others about the grace he has bestowed on you.

Luv Ya!

Who knew?

Beloved–

It is God who enables us,…to stand firm for Christ…he has identified us as his own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment that guarantees everything he has promised us. (from 2 Cor 1)

When I was saved I thought I had found God.  I had no idea that God had chosen me even before he had made “the first handfuls of soil.”    His overwhelming grace is mind boggling but so comforting.

I pray for you daily to always remember to be aware of his mercy and grace.

Luv Ya!
