See the possible danger

Beloved–

In the beginning the Word already existed.  The Word was with God, and the Word was God…You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry…and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts…refusing to let the world corrupt you.  (from James and John)

Quick to listen and slow to speak–oh boy am I in trouble.  I have to recognize the danger I am to myself.  The Bible is not just a book to read daily but God speaking to directly to me.  I can only find joy when I realize how much he loved my heart even before I was born.

I pray for you everyday to recognize the reality of how much the God who is, loves your heart.

Luv Ya!

Finding joy!

Beloved–

Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy…God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation…  (from James)

When there is calamity in my life it is easy to be joyful, because I can run to the foot of the cross, knowing I have no possible solution.   But when daily irritations come–and pile up–it is hard to find joy.  I find it easier to feel sorry for myself then to endure joyfully.  I miss many opportunities to enjoy God’s blessing.

I pray for you daily to be looking for the opportunities to see God’s hand on your life.

Luv Ya!

Do you know what you are looking for?

Beloved–

…may he equip you with all you need for doing his will.  May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him.  All glory to him forever and ever! Amen.  (from Hebrews)

I sent my son to go and bring me the jar of peanut butter from the refrigerator: he couldn’t find it.  I had purchased a different brand; he didn‘t know what he was looking for because he didn’t have enough information.

“doing his will.”   What is it?  How can I be sure I’m pleasing him with my choices?   I need more information. When I love a person I want to do what they do; go where they go, learn all about that person.  What a great God we have; he gave us 66 books (to study) so there wouldn’t any doubts.

I pray for you everyday to search the Word and get to know his power.

Luv Ya!

What’s your gift?

Beloved–

Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many.  (from Hebrews)

When I truly understood what a gift of grace I had received by letting Jesus pay my debt of sin I was overwhelmed.  I knew I wanted to share the Good News but every time I tried I made a mess of it; so I prayed for the right words.  Most of the time the words come in the form of how I should pray for a person rather than speaking directly into their lives.

I pray for you daily to acknowledge God’s gift of grace to you and that you pray for your own special way of sharing the Good News with others.

TODAY!

Beloved–

“This is the new covenant I will make with my people on that day, says the Lord: I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds…You must warn each other every day, while it is still “today,” so that none of you will be deceived by sin and hardened against God. (from Hebrews)

Every time I read those scriptures I hear, TODAY is the day; do it now!  I stop just for a few seconds; praying that my children and my children’s children’s children would not be lost from his hand, that all will fall within the veil.  From all I have heard about my great grandfather, I believe he prayed for my salvation.  What a great  God we have!

I pray daily for you to recognize  that the enemy wants to distract your hearts and minds every day.

Luv Ya!

It’s Wednesday on Thursday!

Beloved–

Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.  (from Hebrews)

Faith was a difficult concept for me because I was a do it myself kind of girl; still am.  But dedicated daily Bible reading (no matter how short the time) soon gave me the assurance I needed.  I came to KNOW the presence of the Holy Spirit and to see and understand how much my Lord Jesus paid to secure my salvation.

I pray everyday for you to KNOW his presence is backing you up as well as guiding you forward.

How to…

Beloved–

…[do]you need someone to teach you…the basic things about God’s word?     Solid food is for those who are mature, who through training have the skill to recognize the difference between right and wrong. (from Hebrews)

When I first began to read the Bible it was only to find an answer to my latest catastrophe; but I found no quick solution to what was right or wrong.  Then I learned just as looking at the pictures in the cookbook didn’t make a skillful cook, sporadic Bible reading didn’t help me KNOW how much God loves me.

I pray for you daily to want to train yourself in the ways of the God who is.

Luv Ya!

Was it too costly?

Beloved–

Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable.  So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe.  (from Hebrews)

In the beginning I thought of my salvation as a place of safety.  I did not realize the magnitude of the price that had been paid for my sin nor did I [do I] comprehend the magnitude of my rebellion.  Even so, I’m covered by the blood that Jesus shed on the cross.

I pray everyday that I will step out of the way so only Jesus can be seen; it’s a daily battle. I pray for you to have victory in your daily battle as well.

Luv Ya!

You are safe!

Beloved–

Listen as Wisdom calls out! Hear as understanding raises her voice!  So we must listen very carefully to the truth we have heard, or we may drift away from it.  (from Proverbs and Hebrews)

Drifting is probably my greatest fault.  Getting all my ducks in a row and then standing back and admiring MY handy work.  Forgetting that it was answer to my begging prayer and not my own doing.  Pride gets me every time.

I pray for you to remember that even when you drift you are still within the veil of his love.

Luv Ya!

It’s Finished!

Beloved–

Jesus knew that his mission was now finished…he said, “It is finished!” he bowed his head and released his spirit.  (from the book of John)

Finished means all done, there is nothing else to do. Which means I can’t add or subtract from Jesus’ completed work.  My debt is paid!  I can’t pay it back!  What can I say, what can I do but give my heart completely to you Lord.

I pray for you to know there is nothing so good or so bad that you can do that alters Jesus’ finished work on the cross.  God loves you, you can’t change that!  Have a Happy Easter.

Luv Ya!
