Pay Attention!

Beloved–

Therefore, I will always remind you about these things [paying attention to scripture]—even though you already know them and are standing firm in the truth you have been taught.  (from 2 Peter)

As a young Christian I suffered with pain, frustration and life’s chaos alone for many days before remembering that I had a problem solver and life manager.  Now, fifty years later of reading and rereading scripture I can focus on God’s words to me instead of the chaos.  Aha, peace of mind and heart.

I pray for you everyday to learn and know the truth and safety in God’s word to you.

Luv Ya!

What a relief!

Beloved–

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding…Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom…Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. (from Proverbs)

As a young Christian, I was only sure of one thing, I had a savior!  Now I know that, no matter how confused I feel in any situation I can stop worrying.  I don’t have to come up with the solution, he has it handled.  It’s a relief to know that I’m not in charge.

I pray for you to know that if you don’t trust yourself and truly seek his will, you will recognize it.

Luv Ya!

It’s Wednesday .02

Beloved–

Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.  Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.  (from 1 Peter)

I have learned over my years of lows and highs that I have an enemy, Satan.  He tries to convince me I’m alone or that I don’t deserve peace of mind and heart.  But when my Lord and savior helps me to recognize the enemy, Satan loses the power to confuse me!

I pray for you everyday that you trust your savior more than what you can feel or see.  Don’t let the enemy win.

Luv Ya!

Knowing is key!

Knowing is comfort.

Beloved–

I will praise the Lord no matter what happens. I will constantly speak of his glories and grace; I will boast of all his kindness to me.  Let all who are discouraged take heart.  For I cried to him and he answered me; he freed me from all my fears… (from Psalms)

I pray for you to always feel (KNOW) the joy of the Lord’s comfort no matter the situation.

Love family

Beloved–

Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires…for you are a chosen people… God’s very own possession.  As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.  (from 1 Peter)

God graciously chose my heart (before the foundation of the earth) knowing that I would be a dirty rotten sinner.  Now, when I meet someone I wonder if God chose that person’s heart–and do they know it.

I pray for you daily to know your own heart and to care about the hearts of your friends, family, as well as strangers.

Luv Ya!

Need to know…

Beloved–

…Love each other deeply with all your heart.  So prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control…  For you know that God paid a ransom to save you… It was the precious blood of Christ…  (from 1 Peter)

My first employer surely couldn’t be included in that group—yet Christ paid the price for his soul too.  Acknowledging that fact caused me to have a new perspective of someone I thought of as an enemy.  When we see people through the cross of Christ, it is easier to recognize people Christ loves from our real enemy.

I pray for you daily to live at the foot of the cross—it really is the safest place to be.

Hold tight to your joy…

Beloved–

You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy. The reward for trusting him will be [is] the salvation of your souls… and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you… (from 1 Peter)

I am totally wrapped within Christ’s embrace.  Since this is true, the enemy’s goal is not to convince me that God doesn’t love me but to destroy my testimony.  He uses the fact that I’m a sinner along with my fears, my pride, my anger to take away my joy in the Lord.  Some days my battle seems to rage unabated others days not so much.  God is good all the time!

I pray for you everyday to know the Lord’s embrace and to recognize the enemy–your recognition of the enemy evaporates his power.

Luv Ya!

Protected!

Beloved–

God the Father knew you and chose you long ago, and his Spirit has made you holy. As a result, you have obeyed him and have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ…‘I see that the Lord is always with me.  I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me…My body rests in hope.  (from Psalms, Acts and 1 Peter)

When I learned that God chose me (I didn’t find him) because I was lost; then I knew I was safe, no matter what.  He was standing right behind me and right in front of me.

I pray daily for you to KNOW that when the enemy attacks you, he cannot win; because you are chosen and safe in the Lord’s embrace.

Luv Ya!

me first ????????????

Beloved–

…And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure…Do you think the Scriptures have no meaning? They say that God is passionate that the spirit he has placed within us should be faithful to him…Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.  (from James)

This was/is a hard lesson for me to learn.  I am torn everyday between what the God who is, has already done for me and what I could do for me.  I keep thinking I KNOW best.

Please pray daily for you and me to humble ourselves so that our loving Father is our greatest joy.

Luv Ya!
