Engage brain before starting mouth

Beloved–

I read the story of a Bible hero’s exploits and rashly told God, “I think I can do that”.  WRONG, it was a nightmare!  Now, I have learned to formulate my prayers based on the Word; being sure that what I’m asking is in line with his desire (Psm 37:4).

The word: Psm 16:9.  The prayer: I praise and thank you (P/TY) Father God that I can submit myself to you for all the time you need to shape me for YOUR purposes.

I pray for you daily to study his word and develop a relationship with the Lord.

Luv Ya!

My lips are sealed.

Beloved–

Recently, I’ve spoken to several people who have been praying for and speaking to unsaved family and friends about the gospel.  I too, remember praying for and agonizing over my father’s unbelief; then I learned (Psm 37:4) its not what I say its what I pray.  I needed to ask the Lord to keep me out of the way so that the Holy Spirit could work through me.

I pray everyday for you to focus on the reality of his presence so the Lord can work through you.

Luv Ya!

Be Happy!

Beloved–

I continue to hear the words “And so I pray” interrupt my thoughts throughout the day.  I have often said that the power of praise and prayer is undeniable.  Yet my prayer life seemed empty until I decided to look at God’s word (the Bible) as a book of instructions.  His word is crystal clear that the Lord God is in control of all life (believer and nonbeliever) and his will and purposes will prevail.

Part of my daily prayer is from Proverbs 16:9 and Jeremiah 29:11: “Father God i praise and thank you that I can submit myself to you for all the time you need to shape me for YOUR purposes.”

I pray for you each day to love the WORD and be happy in Jesus’ love for you.

Luv Ya!

PTL

Beloved–

I praise God for the crisis that caused me to confess my sin and seek Jesus as my savior.  For weeks I woke up every morning knowing that I was not alone.  As my everyday life continued without Bible reading or joining with other believers, when the next crisis occurred it took me 3 days to remember that I didn’t have to resolve the situation alone (not that I had any solutions) but that I could “cast my cares” on the Lord and trust in Him (1 Pet 5:7).

Daily Bible reading of his word and becoming a part of a community of believers brought me to the point that I now have comfort and joy in all situations because I am constantly aware of his presence (Acts 2:25-26).

I pray for you to have the same comfort and joy, no matter what, because you know he is right there with you.

Luv Ya!

The easy way

Beloved–

“So I pray!”  That phrase has been rattling around in my head all week.  As a new Christian I asked what does that mean, what does that sound like?  I can’t say my first thought was to read the instruction booklet; but soon it did occur to me (or was that my Lord leading me?).

Show me the path where I should walk…lead me by your truth and teach me…(Psm 25).  You know when I sit down or stand up…you know my every thought…I can never escape from your spirit!  I can never get away from your presence…(Psm 139).   Sincerely seeking his will/plan rather than my own is the best way.

I pray for you to take comfort in his word and submit to his control; it really is the easiest way.

Luv Ya!

The forth of July

Beloved–

It’s one thing when there are individual sinners (numbers 17:31-33), it is another thing when a whole country sins (Genesis 19:24).  Even so, my passion for prayer is stronger than ever because when we pray in obedience to his word we are at peace in the very depths of our soul even when we are in the midst of what looks like a catastrophe.  So I pray!

Tomorrow our country celebrates its founding; beloved pray for our country and for God’s mercy.

Luv Ya!

Yes, no, wait

Beloved–

Psalm 37:4 says Take delight in the Lord and he will give you your hearts desire.

When I read that verse as young Christian, I said I delight in you Lord and this is my desire (I was veeery young).  I didn’t understand that God needed to work on my heart first; I had to learn what it really means to delight in the Lord.

Today, 40 years later the Lord has answered my prayer.  My husband became an American citizen!

I pray for you to praise God for his willingness to prepare your heart to receive his loving guidance.

Luv Ya!

Lean Back

Beloved–

I am reading through the book of Psalms; I so  empathize with King David and his descendants. They begged God not to hold them guilty for their former sins and for his tenderhearted mercies; but quickly forgot to whom they belonged.  Psalm 79:8-9 and Psalm 80:18

I too, confess my mistakes and promise not to do it again then fall right off my promise.   My joy is that I know about God’s mercies because my sins are covered by the blood Christ shed for me.  John 3:16

I pray daily for you to be constantly aware of God’s presence (just behind your right shoulder..lean back).

Luv Ya!

INFLUENCE…you have it!

Beloved—

After listening to my pastor talking about how the enemy convinces us that less is best I’m all the more encouraged to pray for my legacy.  From the very beginning of my conversion I learned about the power of praise and prayer.

Reading the story of Hannah made me begin the practice of specifically praying daily for each of my children.  After having 4 boys I realized I needed to start praying for my daughters-in-law.  As I had daughters I began to pray for my sons-in-law (not as easy as daughters-in-law).  I have added grandchildren and now great grandchildren to my prayer list.  I pray that the enemy is defeated and that my legacy is a multitude.

My prayer for you is that you fall in love with the Lord Jesus as your savior and then that you choose to serve him wholeheartedly.

Luv Ya!

No more drama

Beloved–

Recently, I had an occasion to speak to teachers personally (who are believers); they were concerned about their struggle of keeping order during class time without major drama.  I pray for the teachers and their students (on my daily prayer list) would choose and serve the Lord because I believe that these children are our legacy for the Lord.

Pray using scripture; what could be better than using the word of God to pray?  Prayer can be a calming of our nerves, a relief from the enemy’s use of our fears against us as well as it can reinvigorate our point of view.

Beloved, my prayer is that you recognize the enemy when he attacks you and use scripture to defeat him.

Luv Ya!
