Time Flies

Beloved–

For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time.  (from Hebrews)

With all my imperfections covered by his blood, I began to grow in my love for my savior.  I deliberately purposed to study his word, to learn who he was and why he willingly sacrificed his life for me.

As time passed I began to become complacent, even smug about my knowledge, not realizing I lacked discernment.  My savior, graciously put me back on his potter’s wheel. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

Luv Ya!

White as Snow .3

Beloved–

And yet, O Lord, you are our Father.  We are the clay, and you are the potter.  We all are formed by your hand. (from Isaiah)

On the potter’s wheel all my scratches, cracks and imperfections were covered over by the precious blood of my savior, Jesus Christ.  I was made new! Washed white as snow. What a blessing it is to be in the hands of the potter. Praise the God who is … Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

Luv Ya!

IWOT!

Beloved—

And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.  (from Hebrews)

The God who is …. Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  A perfect loving community, needing not one soul or not one thing added to make it complete. And yet, invited me in to that circle of complete love to share in it.  It is beyond my comprehension but nonetheless my great joy. He says, “be still and know that I Am God!”

White as Snow .2

Beloved–

“O Israel, can I not do to you as this potter has done to his clay? As the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand.  (from Hebrews)

There I was a square lump of clay, full of cracks, scratches, and divots. Muddy to the point of death or so dry that I was beyond usefulness; but always trying to fit into the round hole. Then my heavenly father chose to place me on his potter’s wheel, washed  me in my savior’s blood so I was made white as snow.  I pray for you to understand how blessed you are to be chosen for the potter’s wheel by our triune God.

Luv Ya!

White as Snow

Beloved–

Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love.  Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins.  Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sin. For I recognize my rebellion; it haunts me day and night.  Against you, and you alone, have I sinned; I have done what is evil in your sight. You will be proved right in what you say, and your judgment against me is just. For I was born a sinner— yes, from the moment my mother conceived me.  But you desire honesty from the womb, teaching me wisdom even there. Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Oh, give me back my joy again; you have broken me— now let me rejoice. Don’t keep looking at my sins.  Remove the stain of my guilt. Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. Do not banish me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me.  (from Psalms)

My prayer as well.

Affliction

Beloved–

But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel on that day, says the Lord: I will put my laws in their minds, and I will write them on their hearts.  I will be their God, and they will be my people. (from Hebrews)

Afflictions that have been vanquished.  The root of my sin is arguing with God, that the afflictions that I am suffering are not fair.  The mercy of God is allowing me to see that my sin of pride was blinding me. My real sin is thinking that I know better than God!  What a merciful God we have!

Not Again?

Beloved–

When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the obligation to do right. And what was the result? You are now ashamed of the things you used to do, things that end in eternal doom.  (from Romans)

Yesterday chaos attacked me; I let fear and pride control my mouth.  The instant the words were uttered I was overcome with shame and sorrow.  I had entertained chaos earlier in the day, but had walked away from it in my own strength.  Not once did seek the help of the Spirit. And so, when chaos came at me once again the sound was so loud I couldn’t I hear the Spirit warming me to “turn around and go the other way.”  Praise God for his mercy.

Almost there …

Beloved–

For though by this time you ought to be teachers . . . but you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness . . . but solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil. (from Hebrews)

I learn by repetition.  I lift weights to combat my infirmity — sometimes I feel I just can’t finish the complete set — however, I know I only need 2 more reps to complete the set.  So I keep on keeping on because I’m so close to the finish line. I pray, oh Father God, don’t let me be indifferent or lazy to my blessed salvation — I’m so close to the finish line.

Luv Ya!

Listen

Beloved–

Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house … then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit … (from Acts)

Upon reflection of my life I can see where the Holy Spirit was speaking to me.  There were two times of major crisis in my life when I heard “turn around and go the other way.” No, instead I continued to stumble down my own path to disaster.  I pray for you to listen carefully for the voice of the God who is … Father, Son, Holy Spirit!

Luv Ya!

Safe Place

Beloved–

So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary. (from Hebrews)

With a trustworthy anchor such as this, knowing that God can not lie, that I can enter the holy of hollies because of what my savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, has done for me. What a blessed assurance from the God who is …. Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

Luv Ya!
