Don’t Listen

Beloved–

“O Lord,” I prayed, “have mercy on me.  Heal me, for I have sinned against you.”  (from Psalms)

I say, don’t listen to the  adversary; I need to learn to recognize his attacks and fight back with scripture!  Where Jesus is the devil can’t be.  Covering myself with the armor of God (Ephesians 6:14-18). Immersing myself in the word of God just as I would use sunscreen at the beach to prevent sunburn.  Reading the story of David and Goliath (1 Samuel 17:38-40).Knowing that my own armor is not strong enough yet, I need God’s armor to protect me from the enemy!  I must let go … of my own strength and commit myself to the will of the Lord God Almighty.  I pray for you to desire to know that the Lord Jesus is in you!  I’m praying for you to desire above all, to put your heart and hand in his.

IWOT!

Beloved–

I said to myself, “I will watch what I do and not sin in what I say.  I will hold my tongue  when the ungodly are around me.”  But as I stood there in silence . . .  the turmoil within me grew worse. The more I thought about it, the hotter I got, igniting a fire of words:  (from Psalms)

I have had to learn, once again, that no matter how harsh an insult, it has to be met with kindness and forgiveness.  Retaliation only brings sorrow.  I need to focus on the God who is . . . Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

The History of “It’s Wednesday”

The power of praise and prayer has been a passion of mine since I was a very young Christian.  As a church secretary, I took on the prayer ministry, especially for students and teachers at the preschool located on the church campus.

The prayer ministry came to include actual hands-on prayer, Wednesday was the designated day.  One particular teacher would often say to me “It’s Wednesday, isn’t it?”  When she resigned to return to school, she said she would miss our weekly prayer time.  I told her, “don’t worry I’ll email you your prayer.”

In her first emailed prayer I wrote on the subject line “It’s Wednesday” and the title just stuck.  I would like to introduce you to that weekly email known as It’s Wednesday, that began in 2003.

I’m praying daily for YOU and that you will fall in love with Jesus more and more everyday; He has taken out your heart of stone and given you a heart of flesh and blood … His blood!

Luv Ya!

His Way

Beloved–

People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy.  (from Proverbs)

Here it is the end of the year and all my “New Year’s” resolutions for 2022 are mostly undone.  I took time to pray for my needs but didn’t take time to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit.  I kept thinking my way is the best solution rather than asking to be shown the Lord’s way.  I pray for you to desire to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit in your daily life.  Please pray for me to constantly be aware of the Lord’s presence and to be continually praising the God who is . . . Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

What a Savior!

Beloved–

And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth.  (from the book of John)

I knew that all was lost. Out of desperation I cried out “the Lord is my Shepherd.” I didn’t realize then what a great sacrifice had been made to pay my sin debt that I couldn’t pay.  I learned by the daily reading of the Word that my sins were the “nails” that nailed my Savior to the tree of Calvary.  I pray for you to desire to study the Word.  Praise the Lord God Almighty!

IWOF again!

Beloved–

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.  (from Acts)

When I cried out in desperation, “the Lord is my shepherd” I knew that I was saved!  How, why  or even what for, I didn’t understand. I didn’t remember the weekly Bible classes (sponsored by the public school system) nor the many Vacation Bible School programs that I attended were preparing me for my time of need.  As a child or an adult every minute reading and studying God’s Word is vital to your salvation! I pray for you to desire to love the Word.

IWOT!

Beloved–

When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. from book of John)

The storm rages on.  Because the Bible means what it says and says what it means; then all I have to do is believe, hold on to the truth and acknowledge who loves me and who is in complete charge!  I pray for you to desire to believe no matter how severe the storm is in your life.

Trusting

Beloved–

He renews my strength.  He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name.  (from Psalms)

The storm rages on.  But If the Bible means what it says and says what it means; then all I have to do is believe, hold on tight, and acknowledge who is in complete charge!  I pray for you to desire to believe no matter how severe the storm is in your life.

This is what I know …

Beloved–

. . . before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.

. . . God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family

. . . he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.

. . .  He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.

. . . because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God .  . .

. . . when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago.  (from Ephesians)

The Lord God Almighty — the very master of the universe — chose to adopt me into his perfect family.  He purchased my freedom with the blood of his precious son, Christ Jesus, my Lord and savior. Because I believe the Holy Spirit came to live in my heart giving me knowledge and understanding about my inheritance and that he keeps his promises.  I pray for you to desire to get to know the God who is . . . Father, Son and Holy Spirit!
