Beloved–

Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity.  (from Colossians)

As a baby Christian I quickly learned the comfort of prayer for ME; I knew I wasn’t alone, all I needed to do was give thanks and pay attention.

As I learned and saw the power of praise and prayer overcome my fears because my Lord had chosen my heart before he made the “first handfuls of soil” my heart became burdened for those other hearts he has chosen.

I pray everyday for you to stay alert and see the Lord working in your life.

Luv Ya!

How it all started…

The History of “It’s Wednesday”

The power of praise and prayer has been a passion of mine since I was a very young Christian.  As a church secretary, I took on the prayer ministry, especially for students and teachers at the preschool located on the church campus.

The prayer ministry came to include actual hands-on prayer, Wednesday was the designated day.  One particular teacher would often say to me “It’s Wednesday isn’t it?”  When she resigned to return to school she said she would miss our weekly prayer time.  I told her, “don’t worry I’ll email you your prayer.”

In her first emailed prayer I wrote on the subject line “It’s Wednesday” and the title just stuck.  I would like to introduce you to that weekly email known as It’s Wednesday, that began in 2003.

I’m praying daily for YOU and that you will fall in love with Jesus more and more everyday; He has taken out your heart of stone and given you a heart of flesh and blood…His blood!

Luv Ya!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Beloved–

Get the truth and never sell it; also get wisdom, [self] discipline, and good judgment. (Prov 23:23)   …I want [you] them to have complete confidence that [you] they understand God’s mysterious plan, which is Christ himself. In him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. (from Colossians)

Having and keeping Christ at the forefront of my thoughts every moment of everyday is what keeps me sane in the midst of life’s chaos.  May God bless you with his presence daily in the new year.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Beloved–

God’s glorious plan for my Christmas!

Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms  and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see…Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together…For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.  (from Colossians)

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Watch out!

Beloved–

[I] We ask God to give [me] you complete knowledge of his will and to give [me] you spiritual wisdom and understanding…For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of [light] his dear Son…He has enabled [me] you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people…the gospel.  (from Colossians)

The lesson I learned is to pray for wisdom and discernment so that I will recognize the attacks from the enemy, while all the time knowing that God is constantly present.

I continue to pray for you daily that you will pray for spiritual wisdom and discernment in the Lord.

Luv Ya!

Why me?

Beloved–

…We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding…and learn to know God better and better. (from Colossians)

When I first learned that Christ loved and chose me, by willingly paying my (sin) debt; I was overwhelmed with joy.  But soon I wanted to know why me?  After nearly 50 years of learning about my Lord better and better, I still ask why me?

I pray for you daily that you will pray for spiritual wisdom and discernment in the Lord.

Luv Ya!

No, not me!

Beloved–

A wise woman builds her home, but a foolish woman tears it down with her own hands.

Each time I’ve read that Proverb over the last 40 years (at least once a month), I stop and pray that I wouldn’t become that kind of wife.  I pray that God would seal my lips before I speak; so that I would recognize the enemy no matter who he uses against me,

I pray for you daily to know His presence always (Acts 2:25).

Luv Ya!

Praise the Lord!

1 Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth!  2  Worship the Lord with gladness.  Come before him, singing with joy.  3 Acknowledge that the Lord is God!  He made us, and we are his.      We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.  4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise.  Give thanks to him and praise his name.  5 For the Lord is good.  His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation.  (from Psalms nlt)

It’s Wednesday on Thursday!

Beloved–

For you have been given not only the privilege of trusting in Christ but also the privilege of suffering for him.  For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.  (from Philippians)

As a new Christian I struggled with “what is God’s will for my life, what criteria should I use?”  I started with daily Bible reading (start with a disciplined 5 minute reading period; the desire will increase) and prayer for the power to stick to the basic criteria.

I pray for you to know God’s will and trust Christ with your life.

Luv Ya!

Just Do It!

Beloved–

Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ…Therefore, go and make disciples. (from Ephesians & Matthew)

As I studied the Bible I learned to praise and thank God all the time for adopting me into his family because Christ (paid my sinful debt) died on the cross for me.  I also, learned that Christ commands me to share the good news of my adoption.  I told my family and friends because I loved them and didn’t want them to miss out on such a wonderful opportunity.  Now, I share my joy on the internet; the idea boggles the mind.

I pray everyday for you to trust in Christ for your eternity and if you do, follow the command and share!

Luv Ya!
