God Bless You

Beloved–

That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep. Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!

“Glory to God in highest heaven, /and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”

                               MERRY CHRISTMAS

Do you see?

Beloved–

From his throne he [God] observes all who live on the earth.  He made their hearts, so he understands everything they do. (from Psalms)

God knows the deepest thoughts of my heart even better than I do; there are some thoughts that I even hide from myself.  Despite knowing what he knows about me, he willingly sacrificed his beloved son on the cross so I would have the opportunity to worship him and give him all the glory.

I pray for you everyday to be willing to hold yourself out at arm’s length to see what God sees and recognize the gift of life God has given to you.

Luv Ya!

Trust

Beloved–

I will praise God no matter what happens.  I will constantly speak of his glories and grace.  I will boast of all his kindness to me.  Let all who are discouraged take heart for I cried to him and he answered me, he freed me from all my fears.  (from Psalms)

It is hard to be in pain and not be sure why.  It’s harder to know that a beloved friend is in pain, know why and yet, not be able to fix it.

Wait patiently for the Lord.  Be brave and courageous.  Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.  (from the Psalms too)

I pray for you daily to seek the Lord’s wisdom over your own.

Luv Ya!

JOY 2.0

Beloved–

Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory. We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. 4 And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.   (from Romans)

Joy 2.0  So where do I get my joy when I’m told my child has cancer or when my beloved father, who had yet to celebrate his 65th birthday, wouldn’t survive his stroke?  My joy comes from my salvation in Christ Jesus.  When I’m in pain it’s very difficult to see the big picture but acknowledging Christ’s sovereignty over my life leads me to peace of mind and heart.

I pray for you everyday to have peace of mind and heart.

Luv Ya!

JOY 1.0

Beloved–

Sing a new song to the Lord!  Let the whole earth sing to the Lord!  Sing to the Lord; praise his name…  Each day proclaim the good news that he saves… Come, let us sing to the Lord!  Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation… Let us come to him with thanksgiving. Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise.  Give thanks to him and praise his name…

Surrender 2.0

Beloved–

When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers—  the moon and the stars you set in place— what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them?  (from Psalms)

“I’ll never know how much it cost to see my sin upon that cross” the song goes.  I’ll never understand why almighty God chose to allow his beloved son to pay my debt of sin.  How can I not SURRENDER every minute of my life to his guidance and continuous praise and thanksgiving?

I pray everyday for you to recognize that the safest place to surrender is at the foot of the cross.

Luv Ya!

Surrender

Beloved–

Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires… (from Psalms)

When I first read this scripture I thought it was a “you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours” situation; I proclaim I belonged to Jesus and he would solve all my problems.  Then I learned because, he is the creator and knows the beginning and the end, he also knows the best solution to all my problems.  My part is TOTAL SURRENDER to his will for my life; easier said than done.

I pray for you daily to want to surrender.

Luv Ya!

Control 2.0

Beloved–

Seek his will in all you do,  and he will show you which path to take… My child, don’t reject the Lord’s discipline, and don’t be upset when he corrects you.  (from Proverbs)

By reading scripture I learned God was guiding my path; I wasn’t getting smarter.  So I decided to deliberately organize my actions and my thoughts to do things God’s way.  I soon found out I wasn’t able to be obedient either.  I still wanted things my way.  Looking back, I see I have not come very far to confessing that God is always in CONTROL.

I pray for you everyday to want God to be in control of your life.

Luv Ya!

CONTROL

Beloved–

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding… Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom… Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil.  (from Proverbs)

Solutions to problems, during my early walk with Jesus, became commonplace; so much so that I decided I had  become smarter.  Daily study of scripture taught me that God is in CONTROL of all my problems and the safest place for me is always at the foot of the cross.

I pray for you daily that you will find the blessings that are at the foot of the cross.

Luv ya!

Favor.02

Beloved–

…We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps… People may be right in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their heart… (from Proverbs)

When I “found” Jesus I began to want to know more about him.  That is when I discovered, from scripture, that I  didn’t find him but that he had chosen to pull me up out of the mud and mire.  I hadn’t earned his favor, he had bestowed it on me despite my sinful nature.

I pray for you everyday to recognize that God’s great sacrifice, of his beloved son, was  for you.

Luv Ya!
