Knowledge is wisdom

Beloved–

Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge,  but fools despise wisdom and discipline … Wisdom is a tree of life to those who embrace her; happy are those who hold her tightly. (from Proverbs)

Faith comes from hearing and testing; belief comes from knowledge. When my children were teenagers they questioned my knowledge many times.  Now that they are parents, they frequently ask, “how did you do that?” I respond, “lots of prayer, and knowing that my Lord would answer my prayers.”  I pray for you to seek the deep joy of knowing our triune God will answer your prayers.

Don’t do that!

Beloved–

. . .But one of the men with Jesus pulled out his sword and struck the high priest’s slave, slashing off his ear. “Put away your sword,” Jesus told him. . . I am too stupid to be human,  and I lack common sense. (from Matthew & Proverbs)

Chaos is the tool of the enemy!  As overwhelming disaster, calamity and a cyclone of chaos confronted me I missed the window of opportunity to trust.  There, for just a moment I knew I needed to hold fast and not speak but instead I used my sword. I pray for you to acquire the knowledge of God so deeply that, you are able to hold fast to our triune God, recognizing his mercy and grace.

What is it…

Beloved–

Who can say, “I have cleansed my heart; I am pure and free from sin”?  (from Proverbs)

Fear creates anger, anger creates chaos, chaos is a tool of the enemy.  My problem is that I don’t always recognize the enemy in the chaos. When I remember to cry out to my almighty, powerful maker to hold me fast… my fear disappears.

I pray for you to deal with your fears and accept the mercy and grace that is Christ Jesus, the Son in the triune God.

Luv Ya!

IWOT!

Beloved–

But faith’s way of getting right with God says, “If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.”  (from Romans)

Faith!  When I was beyond my own strength and devises, I cried out to God and he answered.  And as I practiced my faith, my belief began to grow. I pray for you to practice your faith so that you can spread the good news that the triune God saves!

How to heal …

Beloved–

Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom.  Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment.  (from Proverbs)

Forgive!  Without forgiving there is no healing.  There is more benefit to the forgiver than for the forgiven.  Remember the triune God chose to make mankind in his image, “to be like us.”  He forgives unendingly! I pray for you to get to know the Holy One better and better.

Confession first, then …

Beloved–

Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom.  Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil.  (from Proverbs)

When God made mankind he wired us with a desire to worship. To worship is to give worth to something.  To constantly be thinking about a subject, to the exclusion of everything else. To have your life centered on one thing and one thing only.

Knowing the definition of worship I learned that I can not trust my maker until I confess my sin.  I pray for you to worship and praise the God who is . . Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

Drifting?

Beloved–

Today when you hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts as Israel did when they rebelled…. Be careful then, dear brothers and sisters.  Make sure that your own hearts are not evil and unbelieving, turning you away from the living God.  You must warn each other every day, while it is still “today,” so that none of you will be deceived by sin and hardened against God.  For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ. (from Hebrews)

So here I am saying, WATCH OUT!  I’m faithful to read the word every day but I notice my mind often drifts away, planning what to make for dinner or did I change the clothes from the washer to the dryer?  Satan can appear to be very benign; he isn’t. I always have to remember that I’m a sinner, therefore very susceptible to “innocent sins.” I pray for you to watch out and to hold fast to the triune God.

IWOT!

Beloved–

Therefore, it was necessary for him to be made in every respect like us, his brothers and sisters . . . Since he himself has gone through suffering and testing, he is able to help us when we are being tested.  (from Hebrews)

My heavenly father never promised a smooth path.  He did say he would hold my hand through the rough spots.  I can hold onto the foot of the cross to get me through. I pray for you to have chosen the triune God as your savior so you will have someone’s hand to hold onto through the rough spots.

Did you hear that? Did you know that?

Beloved–

For God’s gifts and his call can never be withdrawn.  (from Romans)

I’m safe!! No matter what comes at me and even if I am backed against the wall; I’m safe.  For my wall is Christ, built by God, the Father with the blood of the Son, shed on the cross, covered with mercy and grace and made known to me by the Holy Spirit!  Why then, would anyone not take advantage of this irrevocable gift? I pray for you to hear the Holy Spirit calling you to know the love of the triune God.

Choices!

Beloved–

Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us . . . So God created human beings in his own image.  In the image of God he created them . . . (from Genesis)

“In our image” and “To be like us…’’   The triune God made choices.

So, because we are human beings, we are able to make choices.  We can choose to be sad or glad, angry or forgiving, turn our own way or follow him.  Our choices come from the inside out, not from our outside influences. I pray for you to constantly be aware of the choices you are making and marvel at the God who is . . . Father, Son and Holy Spirit!
