IWOT

The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need.  He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams.  He renews my strength.  He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name.  Even when I walk through the darkest valley,  I will not be afraid . . .

I will praise the Lord at all times.  I will constantly speak his praises.  I will boast only in the Lord; let all who are helpless take heart.  Come, let us tell of the Lord’s greatness; let us exalt his name together.  I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears . . .

Called

Beloved–

Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God.  (from Ephesians)

How many times have I read that first verse of Ephesians and dismissed it as a salutation rather than the first item on the list of character attitudes needed to achieve “unity” with other believers.  I have been CALLED by GOD to be worthy of the free gift of salvation I have received through the DEATH  and RESURRECTION of my Lord Jesus Christ!  I pray for you too, to want to be worthy of the salvation the Lord God Almighty offers you.

Love Displayed

Beloved–

As the Scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.”  This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one. So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

(from Ephesians)

If you asked me how long I have been married I would respond 6 years even though 50 years have gone by.  We each worked until retirement, my husband nights and I worked days all while raising 6 children of our own as well as various and sundry nieces and nephews.  Now, the house is quiet, just he and I; practically strangers.  I’m learning the difference between loving someone, being in love with someone and respecting someone.  I pray for you too, to develop your relationship with the Holy Spirit.

Luv Ya!

Incline your heart

Beloved–

Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom.  Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment. Cry out for insight,  and ask for understanding . . . Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord . . .   (from Proverbs)

I searched my heart and found that the depth of my love for Almighty God is sorely lacking.  Why should I be afraid . . . I should be afraid of not loving Him enough.  I pray for you too, to fear the Lord God Almighty!

Fear?

Beloved–

Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom.  All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom.  Praise him forever!  Yirat Adonai !  (from Psalms)

I cried out to God to save me and He did!  Then I learned that I should fear him but not as the world does.  He is my savior. Why should I be afraid?  I pray for you to have an insight into your relationship with your maker.

Learning

Beloved–

These proverbs will give insight to the simple, knowledge and discernment to the young . . . to teach people wisdom and discipline, to help them understand the insights of the wise . . . to teach people to live disciplined and successful lives, to help them do what is right, just, and fair.  (from Proverbs)

I cried out to God to save me and He did!  My Christian journey began with a search for a group of believers. The Lord led me to an evangelical church where the Bible was preached verse-by-verse.  I learned how the Lord expected me to think and behave now that I belonged to Him.  Words like fear, knowledge, understanding, insight, wisdom; how the meaning of each of these ideas I am to apply to my daily living as a Christian.  I pray for you to have a complete understanding of your relationship with the Holy Spirit.

Set free

Beloved–

Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge,  but fools despise wisdom and discipline. (from Proverbs)

I was living from one crisis to another, each worse than the last, then I cried out to God to save me and He did!  Through a number of circumstances I came to understand that I am a sinner, and have been since birth, that only faith in the blood of Christ Jesus has the power to set me free. Thus began my Christian journey.  I pray that you too, have a desire to have a relationship with your maker.

Beloved–

Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding.  Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding . . . Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. (from the Bible)

I pray that the eyes of my heart are continually fixed on my savior.  I’m praying for you too, to desire to be guided by my Lord Jesus Christ.

Never Alone

Beloved–

Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence . . .  Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. (from Ephesians)

“He Lives, He Lives, Christ Jesus Lives today. He walks with me and talks with me along life’s narrow way.  He Lives, He LIves salvation to impart, You ask me how I know He Lives, He Lives within my heart!”*    Hearing those words I understood the “How, What, and Why,”  and that I would never be alone again!  I pray for you too, to know how deep God’s love is for you.

Joy!

Beloved–

Peter’s words pierced their hearts, and they said to him and to the other apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?”  Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.    (from Acts)

Understanding the How, What, and Why and continuing to read the WORD I learned that I needed to publicly profess my faith in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior . . . and be baptized!  What a joyous day  I pray for you too, to know the joy of having Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Luv Ya!
