He is Worthy

Beloved–

So the Lord God banished them from the Garden of Eden . . .And the Lord God made clothing from animal skins for Adam and his wife . . .  He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world.  (from Genesis & 1 John)

Since the beginning of time it has taken innocent blood to redeem the life of a human being. Whether it’s clothing to protect his body or a Savior to save his soul.  The Lord God Almighty chose his MOST PRECIOUS POSSESSION, the innocent blood of his only beloved son to redeem mankind.

Upon reflection I apologize for my cavalier attitude toward choosing a lenten theme.  I confess I have nothing worthy to offer.  I praise and thank the Lord God Almighty for His mercy and grace. I’m praying for you MN&N!

Luv Ya!

The Word

Beloved–

But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say, ‘People do not live by bread alone,  but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.  (from Matthew)

Hello my beloved.  How is your “spring cleaning” progressing?  I chose to fast from television viewing, giving me lots of extra time for prayer.  Made a list of old friends, and neighbors that I’ve neglected in prayer.  Please pray that I don’t get distracted by any shiny object that appears just at the edge of my line of vision. I am praying morning, noon and night that you are learning more about being a child of God.

Luv Ya!

Ash Wednesday

Beloved–

Today is Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent and it starts 46 days (40 days not counting Sundays) before Easter.  It falls on a different date each year because it is dependent on the date of Easter.  It can occur as early as February 4 or as late as March 10.

The purpose of Lent (recalling Jesus’ 40-day fast in the wilderness) is to be a season of fasting, self-denial, prayer, scripture reading, penitence, conversion, and simplicity. Lent, which comes from the Teutonic (Germanic) word for springtime, can be viewed as a spiritual spring cleaning: a time for taking spiritual inventory and then cleaning out those things which hinder our corporate and personal relationships with Jesus Christ and our service to him.

Scripture Reading:  When facing temptation in the desert, Jesus relied on Scripture to counter the wiles of the devil. It is a formidable weapon for us as well.

Pray that we can be diligent in our “spring cleaning process.”  I’m praying for you morning, noon and night for the next 46 days.

Luv Ya!

No doubt

Beloved–

And you know that Jesus came to take away our sins, and there is no sin in him …  Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children of God.   (from 1 John)

Accepting the gift of life I received with awe and no doubt.  That I would stop sinning because I had been born again — doubtful.  I had to learn to focus on God and reject all doubt.  You too, can believe Jesus is the Son of God and He wants to be your savior.

He knows

Beloved–

Even if we feel guilty, God is greater than our feelings, and he knows everything. (from 1 John)

As a new Chritian I learned that God does not categorise sin.  A little white lie, or  committing a murder — it is all sin.  When I reflect on the fact that God loved me despite my sinful nature — I cry.  You too, can rejoice knowing that God the Father loves you.

He is Worthy!

Beloved–

This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.  (from the book of 1 John)

Still not understanding how I could feel at peace in the midst of chaos, I learned that God the Father loved me before I knew him and sent Jesus His Son as a ransom for my soul.  You, too, can know that God the Father loves you.

Luv Ya!

It’s a fact

Beloved–

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ  has become a child of God.  (from the book 1 John)

When I chose to give total control of my life to God the Father through Christ Jesus, his Son, I learned that my faith revealed an indwelling of the Holy Spirit to be my life guide.  I pray for you to want to choose to activate a guiding light in your life.

You too

Beloved–

When people’s lives please the Lord, even their enemies are at peace with them.  (from Proverbs)

I learned when a person depends on the power of God the Father there is no anxiety in the midst of chaos.  You too, can  choose to let Jesus control your life.

Faith, is all it takes

Beloved–

For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.  (from the book of 1 John)

In desperation I cried out to God to save me. I didn’t know that I was exercising faith in the power of God the Father through the work of His Son, Lord Jesus Christ.  I soon began to learn.  You too, can exercise your faith.

Control

Beloved—

Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe.  (from Hebrews)

I was Awestruck …  when I realized that the Son of Almighty God, my Savior, was obedient even though He was totally aware of the horrendous sacrifice He would have to endure to ransom my soul.  I pray that you, too, understand the price needed to save your soul.

Luv Ya!
