What’s Stronger

Beloved–

For I was born a sinner —-   yes, from the moment my mother conceived me.  But you desire honesty from the womb teaching me wisdom even there. (from Psalms)

I was born a “dishwater blonde.”  All of my children were born with blonde hair that turned to light brown. Yet I have a grandchild that has red hair.  It all depends on which physical traits are stronger.  The strongest character trait that we ALL  inherited from grandpa Adam is our sinful nature . . .the first impulse is to walk through the puddle instead of walking around it.  Praise God that he loved me so much that he willingly sacrificed His only Son to override my sinful nature.  I pray for you to desire the wisdom of the Holy Spirit that is available for you.

Pay Attetion

Beloved–

Then he added, “Pay close attention to what you hear. The closer you listen, the more understanding you will be given  . . .  But for those who are not listening, even what little understanding they have will be taken away from them.”  ( from Mark)

As a young Christian and an arrogant sinner I read right over that scripture because it couldn’t possibly apply to me.   Reading and re-reading scripture daily I learned what a merciful loving  Savior God is.  I pray for you too, to understand that God loves you.

It’s either one or the other

Beloved–

But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (from Ephesians)

As I continued to read I learned what it means to choose to believe . . . Life Eternal.

            OR

Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan.(from Ephesians)

As I continued to study I learned what it means to be chosen with the gift of . . . Life Eternal

I pray for you to desire to believe.

Nails

Beloved–

When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned.   (from Romans)

How being a believer works. First I had to face the fact that I was a sinner; that every nail used to put Jesus on the cross had my name on it. Facing that truth brought me to my knees . . . but Joy comes in the morning.  I pray for you too, to desire to experience the joy of the Lord!

It’s a Gift

Beloved–

“I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life. (from the book of John)

What happened when I believed that the death of Jesus Christ on the cross paid my debt and saved me from condemnation.  I didn’t even know it happened.  I didn’t know I was in debt.  I only knew that I was protected with eternal life.  Now that I know the Good News I want to share it.  I pray for you too, to desire to know my Savior.

Let go!

Beloved–

For we have heard how the Lord made a dry path for you through the Red Sea when you left Egypt. (from Joshua)

God is in control so let go.  The Red Sea has no escape . . .  Pharaoh with his army no retreat.  But just at the perfect moment , God’s timing is always perfect . . . dry land appears.  When I felt that all was lost I learned that I had to get out of the way to receive the Lord’s perfect blessing. I pray for you to desire to receive the Lord’s perfect blessing.

Freedom

Beloved–

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the people to get moving!  Pick up your staff and raise your hand over the sea. Divide the water so the Israelites can walk through the middle of the sea on dry ground.   (from Exodus)

Daily reading the WORD keeps me in control of my feelings. If I let the chaos I see prevent me from acting on what I KNOW the TRUTH is: that God is in control. Then I lose my peace of mind and heart.  I pray for you to desire peace for your life.

My Choice

Beloved–

“I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life. (from the book of John)

I already had a plan for my life that was falling apart when I learned about the Lord’s master plan.  It took me several crises to know I had to make a choice: the highway or the narrow way.  Then a final crisis that made me know that the narrow way was the best for me.  I pray for you to desire to choose the narrow way.

Which Way

Beloved–

God created everything through him,  and nothing was created except through him.  (from Matthew)

God had a master plan even before he had made the first handfuls of soil, he had every life and everything planned.  He is in complete control of every situation in my life.  It is my choice, I can take the highway without his company or enjoy his presence “along life’s narrow way.”  I have chosen his way.  I pray you too, will desire the narrow way.

Begin

Beloved–

. . .  don’t worry about how to respond or what to say. God will give you the right words at the right time. For it is not you who will be speaking—it will be the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. (from Matthew)

Studying God’s word I learned about HIS WILL for my life.  I also developed a desire to align my heart with God’s heart.  I pray for you to seek His Will for your life and understand how much He loves you.
