The Pharaoh Syndrome

Beloved–

People may be pure in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their motives … And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness …  we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words (from Proverbs and Romans)

Even after I was saved (and understood fully what had happened) I continued to pray in a stiffnecked and hard hearted attitude. I was oblivious of my refusal to trust the plan of the Lord God Almighty above my own.  I pray for you to desire to trust our triune God completely.

Luv Ya!

Dumb Bunny!

Beloved–

But when Pharaoh saw that there was relief, he hardened his heart and did not listen to them, as the Lord had said.  (from Exodus)

Whenever I think of Pharaoh’s response I think dumb bunny.  Lately, I realize that my stiff neck and hardened heart for a very specific prayer request caused me to not be willing to accept that the Lord was working out HIS plan for me.  I pray for you to not be like Pharaoh and me but to know that the Lord loves you and he’s got your back!

Are you listening?

Beloved–

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere …  (from Acts)

As a new believer I didn’t understand how my triune God functioned; all I knew was that  when I was desperate and cried out to my heavenly Father, he answered. Now I know that the Holy Spirit has been guiding me since the moment I cried out in faith for his help. I pray for you to recognize that still small voice you hear is your loving heavenly Father calling you.

Lessons Learned

Beloved–

But the words you speak come from the heart—that’s what defiles you. (Matthew)

As a new believer I soon learned that my sharp tongue decried my Christian testimony.  It is one thing to ask for help to not speak critical words but it takes a change of heart to not even think a negative thought. Loving an enemy means giving up my pride, for me not at all easy.  I pray for you to delight yourself in the Lord so that he will give you the desires of your heart. Always praising the Lord God Almighty.

Beloved–

Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love.  Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins.  Wash me clean from my guilt.  Purify me from my sin.  For I recognize my rebellion; it haunts me day and night.  Against you, and you alone, have I sinned; I have done what is evil in your sight.  You will be proved right in what you say, and your judgment against me is just.  (Psalms)

Such comfort those words create in my heart; they lift a heavy weight from my spirit.

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.  This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.  For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. (Psalms)

Such comfort those words create in my heart; they give me freedom from fear and the knowledge that the enemy can never gain victory over me. I pray for you to Praise the Lord God Almighty and that he is All Powerful!

Love

Beloved–

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud … Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.  (from Corinthians)

God has a perfect plan for each situation in our lives. Only by straining to listen to the Holy Spirit’s guidance  can I survive the enemies “song and dance” about how difficult the situation appears to be. I pray for you to know God’s plan is perfect.  Praise our triune God for his overwhelming love.

Time to review

Beloved–

But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you … “But I will send you the Advocate—the Spirit of truth. He will come to you from the Father and will testify all about me.  (from John)

Good Friday is about Jesus’ blood that paid my price. Easter Morn celebrates the resurrection of Jesus to life and the redemption for my soul.  Now I have the spirit of truth—a helper to be with me forever—speaking to my heart. I pray for you to desire to know and hear the truth speaking to your heart.  Always praising the Lord God Almighty who is all powerful!

Did you listen carefully?

Beloved–

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.  This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.  For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease.  He will cover you with his feathers.  He will shelter you with his wings.  His faithful promises are your armor and protection.  (from Psalms)

When I understood that the Lord God Almighty was triune—Father, Son, my savior, and Holy Spirit, my constant companion—that he had made a plan for my life from the beginning of time. If I got with the program I could have peace of heart and mind no matter the chaos that might surround me.  I pray for you to seek to abide in his shadow of his protection by listening very carefully for his voice.  Praise be to our triune God!

Listen, carefully

Beloved–

People may be right in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their heart.  The Lord is more pleased when we do what is right and just than when we offer him sacrifices.  (from Proverbs)

At the end of my own devices I called out to God to save me; not with a humble heart, helpless surely, but not with humility.  Then I learned that being really good or really bad there was just no way I could free myself; only Jesus’ blood shed on Calvary’s cross could pay my debt of sin and shame.  I pray for you to know that our strength is in humility and the blood, not in our pride. Praise the Lord God Almighty who is … Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

Beloved–

Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us … So God created human beings in his own image.  In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them … So God created human beings in his own image.  In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.  (from Genesis)

I don’t look like my mother or father; which, as a child, concerned me for a long time. Then I saw a picture of my great grandfather and I recognized myself immediately.  Understanding the science of DNA and the WORD of God I know why I have a perishable body but an immortal soul. I pray for you to recognize where your DNA started. Praise the Lord God Almighty who is … Father, Son and Holy Spirit!
