IWOT!

I will praise the Lord no matter what happens.  I will constatly speak of His glories and grace.  I will boast of all His kindness to me. Let all who are discouraged take heart, for I cried to him and he answered me.  He freed me from all my fears!  I praise and thank you Lord God, Almighty that you are my  Father God, my maker, my master, the lover of my soul, my salvation!  You covered me with Jesus’ righteous blood making me presentable in your presents.  Praise the Lord, he renews his mercies every morning!

Unbelievable

Beloved–

And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.  (from Romans)

When my heavenly Father saved me out of the chaos that I myself had created, I became a believer.  I desired to know this God who loved me so much that he sacrificed his only son on the cross for me.  I began to read his Word, I searched for like minded people.  Greater still, this merciful God wanted to fill me with his presence guiding my steps for all eternity.  So began my journey to answer the question — What does an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit look like?  I pray for you to desire to seek an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit.

It-s the only way

Beloved–

Teach me to do your will, for you are my God.  May your gracious Spirit lead me forward on a firm footing.  (from Proverbs)

O Lord, I have so many enemies; so many are against me.  So many are saying, “God will never rescue him!”  But you, O Lord, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high.  I cried out to the Lord, and he answered me from his holy mountain.  I lay down and slept, yet I woke up in safety,  for the Lord was watching over me.  I am not afraid of ten thousand enemies who surround me on every side.  Arise, O Lord!  Rescue me, my God!  Slap all my enemies in the face!   Shatter the teeth of the wicked!  Victory comes from you, O Lord. May you bless your people.

Luv Ya!

Want it

Beloved–

Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit.   Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life. (from the book of John)

Today is one of those times when I’m not sure what to write. That is why “It’s Wednesday” is sometimes “IWOT.”  My prayer is that you understand what it means to have an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit.  I don’t always understand it but I know I have it.  I pray for you to have the desire to want an intimate relationship with the God who is . . . Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

Luv Ya!

Don’t talk, listen

Beloved–

 — Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. May your gracious Spirit lead me forward on a firm footing.

 — “So I tell you, every sin and blasphemy can be forgiven—except blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, which will never be forgiven. Anyone who speaks against the Son of Man can be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven, either in this world or in the world to come.

—-  So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.”  (from The Bible)

By trial and error I have learned that God, who is . . . Father, Son and Holy Spirit, cares about every moment of my life.  I need to maintain an intimate relationship with him through the indwelling Holy Spirit.  I pray for you to trust your soul and your life to the Lord God Almighty!

Your choice or …?

Beloved–

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.  (from New Testament)

As I became more faithful at daily Bible reading I also became complacent.  Daily Bible reading was just one more item on my to do list. Everything was running smoothly.  Pride told me that I was getting smarter.  When the crash came I could not recall one Bible verse to give me comfort. It was then that I confessed my sin, I wasn’t getting smarter, I was claiming someone else’s work as my own, it was the Holy Spirit guiding my choices. Only when I have an intimate relationship with my Savior that all things work for good because my heavenly father is/was incharge.  I pray for you to desire to have an intimate relationship with our triune God.

IWOT!

Beloved–

Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires.  Commit everything you do to the Lord.  Trust him, and he will help you.  (from the Old Testament)

I learned many lessons through that 3 year period.  I learned the difference between “delighting in the Lord” rather than “my way is best.”  To be really “delighted” in a plan or idea of the Lord who loves me and is my Lord and savior that I love is not always automatic; sometimes I have to choose to do so.  Because I tend to be selfish and self centered; daily, frequently hourly, I seek his help to “seal” my words, actions, thoughts and feelings so that all that I do reflects his glory. His mercies are renewed every day!  Praise the God who is . . . Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

Willing

Beloved–

Don’t keep looking at my sins. Remove the stain of my guilt.  Create in me a clean heart, O God.    Renew a loyal spirit within me.  Do not banish me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit  from me.  Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you.  (from Psalms)

Many times during that 3 year period I needed to reread Psalm 51, usually in tears. There were days in a row when I just kept failing, then I heard the Spirit speaking to me, “You are reading the sentences, and not the words.”  Renew, Restore and Willingness, were the words that stood out in “ALL CAPS” to me.  I had to learn to be willingly obedient. It really is the easiest way.  I pray for you to hear the voice of our Triune God speaking to you.

Luv Ya!

How it started

The History of “It’s Wednesday”

The power of praise and prayer has been a passion of mine since I was a very young Christian.  As a church secretary, I took on the prayer ministry, especially for students and teachers at the preschool located on the church campus.

The prayer ministry came to include actual hands-on prayer, Wednesday was the designated day.  One particular teacher would often say to me “It’s Wednesday, isn’t it?”  When she resigned to return to school, she said she would miss our weekly prayer time.  I told her, “don’t worry I’ll email you your prayer.”

In her first emailed prayer I wrote on the subject line “It’s Wednesday” and the title just stuck.  I would like to introduce you to that weekly email known as It’s Wednesday, that began in 2003.

I’m praying daily for YOU and that you will fall in love with Jesus more and more everyday; He has taken out your heart of stone and given you a heart of flesh and blood … His blood!

Luv Ya!

The Word

Beloved–

They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. (from Acts)

It took me 3 years to develop the NEED to read my Bible FIRST THING in the morning.  Once I made the choice to do it, the follow through took me months and months to find out why I didn’t always remember. I had lots of frustration with my lack of self discipline. Then I learned –from the Bible stories about the lives of my Christian ancestors– that I too, was depending on my own ability to be faithful.  I continue to pray for you to desire to read the Bible so you are able to hear the voice of the God who is . . . Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

Luv Ya!
