Be Vigilante

Beloved–

Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. (from the book of 1 Peter)

The bible warns us that Satan and his army of evil spirits work day and night to cause believers to fall into sin.  The Lord provides his  Christian Army (that’s us believers) complete with uniform and instructions on how to conduct warfare based on the fact that the Lord Jesus Christ has overcome the world.   Halalulla!

Paid in Full

Beloved—

For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.   (from the book of John)

If not, why not? Your body is mortal but your soul is immortal. Salvation is a gift.  You can’t earn it.  The purchase of your soul has already been paid for through the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross.  You simply have to believe it.

Peace in the midle of choas

Beloved–

“The apostles said to the Lord, “Show us how to increase our faith.”   (from Luke)

I have begun to do a slower re-reading of my daily Bible assignment due to all the anxiety and chaos occurring.  Even the 12 apostles, chosen personally by Jesus, knew that they couldn’t completely comprehend the faith needed to share the message of the Good News.  Please join me in prayer for an increase in our faith.

Know your enemy

Beloved–

Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.    (from Ephesians)

Resisting temptation alone is impossible.  Having a companion helps but still it is impossible.  Only, the gift of life through the blood of Christ is there any chance of hope.  Praise God that we, although sinners, God loved us so much that he sacrificed his only beloved Son so that we could have eternal life.  Pray that we never forget the power of the blood!

Ambassador

Beloved–

So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.  (from Corinthians)

Faith is expecting what you can not see and yet see it crystal clear.  Always pray that we recognize  those who the Father has sent to join us. God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit Amen!

This is the way to go

Beloved-

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations,  baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit . . . I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”*

Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take for the Lord is your security.   He will keep your foot from being caught in a trap.*

Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom.  Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil.  Then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones.*

My child, don’t reject the Lord’s discipline,  and don’t be upset when he corrects you. For the Lord corrects those he loves,  just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights.*

I heard the Word   and even thought I understood completely.  It took many years of God’s hand of mercy and grace for me to recognize that what I thought was wisdom was really my pride and arrogance.  Pray that you can see the real person behind the mirror.

Rescued

Beloved–

“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.  I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world. (from the book of John)

A life plagued with chaos frequently drives a person into the arms of Jesus Christ.

I was going down for the third time when I heard the message of the Good News and Christ’s love for me.  God sent his  Son to earth to bring the promised message of life eternal. By faith, believing that Jesus Christ is the son of God, that his shed blood on the cross is sufficient to pay my sin debt and that his death, burial and resurrection is the guarantee of Life eternal.

The chaos continued but solutions were readily available when I focused on the planner rather than the attacker.  I pray for you to run into the arms of your Savior who loves you beyond measure.

Changed

Beloved–

So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.  Let there be tears for what you have done. Let there be sorrow and deep grief. Let there be sadness instead of laughter, and gloom instead of joy . . . Be still, and know that I am God!  I will be honored by every nation.  I will be honored throughout the world. (from Psalms & James)

God is in control so let go.   My attitude of humility and confession has changed.  I’m aware of the presence of the Holy Spirit. Sometimes it is just a sense that there is someone in the room and other times there is a real conversation.  Mostly I just need to be quiet.  Try it.

Despair to Joy

Beloved–

Wash me clean from my guilt.  Purify me from my sin.  For I recognize my rebellion;  it haunts me day and night. (from Psalms)

Coming face-to-face with the fact that I am a sinner and to realize the fact that my same sinful nature caused my Savior unspeakable pain brought me to despair.  Yet, he forgave me, he covered me with his righteousness, making me presentable in the sight of my heavenly Father.  I pray for you to desire to be covered in his righteousness.

Stronger

Beloved–

For I was born a sinner —-   yes, from the moment my mother conceived me.  But you desire honesty from the womb teaching me wisdom even there. (from Psalms)

I was born a “dishwater blonde.”  All of my children were born with blonde hair that turned to light brown. Yet I have a grandchild that has red hair.  It all depends on which physical traits are stronger.  The strongest character trait that we ALL  inherited from grandpa Adam is our sinful nature . . .the first impulse is to walk through the puddle instead of walking around it.  Praise God that he loved me so much that he willingly sacrificed His only Son to override my sinful nature.  I pray for you to desire the wisdom of the Holy Spirit that is available for you.
