IWOT!

Beloved–

  •  Psalam 23 — memorized at the age of 7
  • John 3:16 — saved unto the Lord Jesus Christ
  • Isaiah 26:3 — heard the voice of the Holy Spirit
  • Psalm 34 — learned not my way but His way
  • John 14:15-17 — learned how
  • Acts 2:25-26 —  learned I’m never alone

As a new Christian I became involved in many Bible studies.  However, I still didn’t have a real relationship with my redeemer.  I came to the conclusion that if parts of the Bible were profitable for me, maybe I should read the whole book from cover-to-cover.  And so began my daily journey to get to know my savior.  I pray for you to desire a real relationship with the lover of your soul!

Forgive

Beloved–

“If you love me, obey my commandments . . .  But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.  (from The Gospels)

To be able to forgive unconditionally is one of life’s most difficult lessons.  I have learned that my refusal to forgive only causes me sorrow. Unconditional forgiveness brings freedom and joy to my soul when I focus my life on my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I pray for you to desire to be forgiving; always praising the God who is … Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

IWOT! Again

Beloved–

But I say, love your enemies!  Pray for those who persecute you!   “Love your enemies! Do good to them . . .  Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked . . .  “If you love me, obey my commandments . . .  But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.  (from The Gospels)

To love my enemies means I have to willingly forgive their meanness toward me.  I have learned that when I refuse to forgive, it causes me sorrow; when I truly forgive my sorrow disappears.  I pray for you to have a forgiving heart, praising the Most High who has forgiven you.

Luv Ya!

IWOT!

Beloved–

Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.

For me, learning the lesson to “cast all my cares upon the Lord” to be my first thought has been difficult.  My first instinct is … grumble why me or I don’t need advice, I can fix this … forgetting who is in charge!  The blessing is the Lord is infinitely patient.  I pray for you to desire to recognize the Lord’s patience for you.  Praise our Triune God!

Silence is Golden

Beloved–

But as I stood there in silence— not even speaking of good things— the turmoil within me grew worse.  The more I thought about it, the hotter I got, igniting a fire of words.  (from Psalms)

My prayer has been, “Lord seal my lips,” so that I know when to speak and when to stay silent. I have learned that even when I don’t answer in kind, my thoughts scream my response.  Now, my prayer is “Lord seal my thoughts,” so that I focus on staying in your shadow, heavenly Father, Lord God Almighty.  I pray for you to desire to focus your thoughts on our Triune God.

Don’t Listen

Beloved–

“O Lord,” I prayed, “have mercy on me.  Heal me, for I have sinned against you.”  (from Psalms)

I say, don’t listen to the  adversary; I need to learn to recognize his attacks and fight back with scripture!  Where Jesus is the devil can’t be.  Covering myself with the armor of God (Ephesians 6:14-18). Immersing myself in the word of God just as I would use sunscreen at the beach to prevent sunburn.  Reading the story of David and Goliath (1 Samuel 17:38-40).Knowing that my own armor is not strong enough yet, I need God’s armor to protect me from the enemy!  I must let go … of my own strength and commit myself to the will of the Lord God Almighty.  I pray for you to desire to know that the Lord Jesus is in you!  I’m praying for you to desire above all, to put your heart and hand in his.

Luv Ya!

IWOT!

Beloved–

I said to myself, “I will watch what I do and not sin in what I say.  I will hold my tongue  when the ungodly are around me.”  But as I stood there in silence . . .  the turmoil within me grew worse. The more I thought about it, the hotter I got, igniting a fire of words:  (from Psalms)

I have had to learn, once again, that no matter how harsh an insult, it has to be met with kindness and forgiveness.  Retaliation only brings sorrow.  I need to focus on the God who is . . . Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

The History of “It’s Wednesday”

The power of praise and prayer has been a passion of mine since I was a very young Christian.  As a church secretary, I took on the prayer ministry, especially for students and teachers at the preschool located on the church campus.

The prayer ministry came to include actual hands-on prayer, Wednesday was the designated day.  One particular teacher would often say to me “It’s Wednesday, isn’t it?”  When she resigned to return to school, she said she would miss our weekly prayer time.  I told her, “don’t worry I’ll email you your prayer.”

In her first emailed prayer I wrote on the subject line “It’s Wednesday” and the title just stuck.  I would like to introduce you to that weekly email known as It’s Wednesday, that began in 2003.

I’m praying daily for YOU and that you will fall in love with Jesus more and more everyday; He has taken out your heart of stone and given you a heart of flesh and blood … His blood!

Luv Ya!

His Way

Beloved–

People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy.  (from Proverbs)

Here it is the end of the year and all my “New Year’s” resolutions for 2022 are mostly undone.  I took time to pray for my needs but didn’t take time to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit.  I kept thinking my way is the best solution rather than asking to be shown the Lord’s way.  I pray for you to desire to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit in your daily life.  Please pray for me to constantly be aware of the Lord’s presence and to be continually praising the God who is . . . Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

Luv Ya!

What a Savior!

Beloved–

And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth.  (from the book of John)

I knew that all was lost. Out of desperation I cried out “the Lord is my Shepherd.” I didn’t realize then what a great sacrifice had been made to pay my sin debt that I couldn’t pay.  I learned by the daily reading of the Word that my sins were the “nails” that nailed my Savior to the tree of Calvary.  I pray for you to desire to study the Word.  Praise the Lord God Almighty!
