So prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control.  Through Christ you have come to trust in God.  (from the book of Peter)

God’s word says prepare my mind and exercise self-control.  In my mind I say “yeah right.”  Every theme, concern, desire pops on the screen of my mind.  Then I get on my knees and beg the Holy Spirit to help me to focus my heart.  If you have put your faith in Christ Jesus you too, can call on the Holy Spirit to focus your heart.
