IWOT

The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need.  He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams.  He renews my strength.  He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name.  Even when I walk through the darkest valley,  I will not be afraid . . .

I will praise the Lord at all times.  I will constantly speak his praises.  I will boast only in the Lord; let all who are helpless take heart.  Come, let us tell of the Lord’s greatness; let us exalt his name together.  I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears . . .

Called

Beloved–

Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God.  (from Ephesians)

How many times have I read that first verse of Ephesians and dismissed it as a salutation rather than the first item on the list of character attitudes needed to achieve “unity” with other believers.  I have been CALLED by GOD to be worthy of the free gift of salvation I have received through the DEATH  and RESURRECTION of my Lord Jesus Christ!  I pray for you too, to want to be worthy of the salvation the Lord God Almighty offers you.

Luv Ya!

Love Displayed

Beloved–

As the Scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.”  This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one. So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

(from Ephesians)

If you asked me how long I have been married I would respond 6 years even though 50 years have gone by.  We each worked until retirement, my husband nights and I worked days all while raising 6 children of our own as well as various and sundry nieces and nephews.  Now, the house is quiet, just he and I; practically strangers.  I’m learning the difference between loving someone, being in love with someone and respecting someone.  I pray for you too, to develop your relationship with the Holy Spirit.

Luv Ya!

Incline your heart

Beloved–

Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom.  Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment. Cry out for insight,  and ask for understanding . . . Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord . . .   (from Proverbs)

I searched my heart and found that the depth of my love for Almighty God is sorely lacking.  Why should I be afraid . . . I should be afraid of not loving Him enough.  I pray for you too, to fear the Lord God Almighty!

Luv Ya!
