Willing

Beloved–

Don’t keep looking at my sins. Remove the stain of my guilt.  Create in me a clean heart, O God.    Renew a loyal spirit within me.  Do not banish me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit  from me.  Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you.  (from Psalms)

Many times during that 3 year period I needed to reread Psalm 51, usually in tears. There were days in a row when I just kept failing, then I heard the Spirit speaking to me, “You are reading the sentences, and not the words.”  Renew, Restore and Willingness, were the words that stood out in “ALL CAPS” to me.  I had to learn to be willingly obedient. It really is the easiest way.  I pray for you to hear the voice of our Triune God speaking to you.

Luv Ya!

How it started

The History of “It’s Wednesday”

The power of praise and prayer has been a passion of mine since I was a very young Christian.  As a church secretary, I took on the prayer ministry, especially for students and teachers at the preschool located on the church campus.

The prayer ministry came to include actual hands-on prayer, Wednesday was the designated day.  One particular teacher would often say to me “It’s Wednesday, isn’t it?”  When she resigned to return to school, she said she would miss our weekly prayer time.  I told her, “don’t worry I’ll email you your prayer.”

In her first emailed prayer I wrote on the subject line “It’s Wednesday” and the title just stuck.  I would like to introduce you to that weekly email known as It’s Wednesday, that began in 2003.

I’m praying daily for YOU and that you will fall in love with Jesus more and more everyday; He has taken out your heart of stone and given you a heart of flesh and blood … His blood!

Luv Ya!

The Word

Beloved–

They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. (from Acts)

It took me 3 years to develop the NEED to read my Bible FIRST THING in the morning.  Once I made the choice to do it, the follow through took me months and months to find out why I didn’t always remember. I had lots of frustration with my lack of self discipline. Then I learned –from the Bible stories about the lives of my Christian ancestors– that I too, was depending on my own ability to be faithful.  I continue to pray for you to desire to read the Bible so you are able to hear the voice of the God who is . . . Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

Relationship

Beloved–

They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. (from Acts)

As a new Christian I took my salvation for granted, once my crisis was resolved I promptly forgot who was in charge. Several calamities later I became more cautious.  I knew that I needed to develop a relationship with my Savior.  As a child, I learned the 23rd Psalm . . . I thought maybe I should read the whole book.  Developing a habit of reading the WORD daily is not as easy as it sounds. The need to submit to his will over mine was for me a difficult task.  It took me 3 years to become a daily faithful reader.  I pray for you to desire to read the Bible so you can stay on the straight path of the God who is . . . Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

Understanding

Beloved–

So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ . . . For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not in accordance with knowledge.  (from Romans)

As a new believer the Lord led me to a Bible believing church that preached the WORD of God every Sunday morning and evening as well as Wednesday night prayer meetings.  The congregation there saw that I was a “babe in Christ” needing wisdom, discernment, knowledge and understanding.  The family of believers in that church lovingly taught me how to apply the WORD of God to my everyday life.  I pray for you to desire to study the WORD of God so that you can testify that the God who is …  Father, Son and Holy Spirit loves you.
