IWOT!

Beloved–

Some people make cutting remarks, but the words of the wise bring healing.(from Proverbs)

My heart is a garden where thought flowers grow.  The thoughts that I think are the seeds that I sow.  Every kind loving thought bears a kind loving deed, And a thought that is selfish is just like a weed.  So I must watch what I think each minute each day, Pull out the weed thoughts and throw them away, And plant loving seed thoughts so thick in a row, There will not be room for weed thoughts to grow.

First, I prayed for the Lord to seal my lips.  Now my prayer to the Lord is, help me to actively reject any negative thoughts. I’m praying for you to recognize the attacks of the enemy and praise our triune God for his love and care.

Luv Ya!

It takes action

Beloved–

… he was shown to be the Son of God when he was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit. He is Jesus Christ our Lord …This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”   (from Romans)

The scriptures say that my faith is a gift from God through the power of the Holy Spirit.   The scriptures also say, who I could/should be in Christ. I pray for you to seek, through the scriptures, to be the best you can be in Christ.

Luv Ya!

IWOT!

Beloved–

Trust in the Lord with all your heart … Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom … the way of the wicked is like total darkness. They have no idea what they are stumbling over.  (from Proverbs)

When I first recognized Jesus Christ as my master and solutions to problems became more commonplace, I naturally assumed I was getting smarter.  Then I learned that a child of God always has a lighted pathway, IF his eyes are looking up; I wasn’t getting any smarter. I pray for you to stay on the path so you won’t stumble.

Luv Ya!

Ash Wednesday

Beloved–

Today is Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent and it starts 46 days (40 days not

counting Sundays) before Easter.  It falls on a different date each year because it is dependent on the date of Easter.  It can occur as early as February 4 or as late as March 10.

The purpose of Lent (recalling Jesus’ 40-day fast in the wilderness) is to be a season of fasting, self-denial, prayer, scripture reading, penitence, conversion, and simplicity. Lent, which comes from the Teutonic (Germanic) word for springtime, can be viewed as a spiritual spring cleaning: a time for taking spiritual inventory and then cleaning out those things which hinder our corporate and personal relationships with Jesus Christ and our service to him.

Prayer: Lent is a good time to develop or strengthen a discipline of daily prayer. A good goal for Lent would be to praise God in prayer morning and evening daily.  Praise and thanksgiving first and requests second.

Scripture Reading:  When facing temptation in the desert, Jesus relied on Scripture to counter the wiles of the devil. It is a formidable weapon for us as well.

Pray that we can be diligent in our “spring cleaning process.”  I’m praying for you morning, noon and night for the next 46 days.

Luv Ya!
